Discussion Topic: What is the meaning of Sex (the act of intimacy)

A thread was sent my way from a group of my friends and they ask what is the meaning of sex. I have not posted to the thread as of this moment but I plan to. But I wanted to write about it here first and it is interesting because I observed the replies from my friends and I agreed with I think two or three people. I think that sex is something that is special and in many ways being abused by many people. It is something that would be ideal to accompany a committed relationship such as a marriage but in many cases it does not. I do not feel that it is my place to tell someone they are wrong to have sex with someone they do not love or are married or committed to but I know it happens. Sometimes sex is an experience that disappoints because other things are not in line with the exchange or connection of two bodies. Sexual relations has become something that is handed out like a piece of candy and I don't mean to compare sex to candy but hey it works for this piece. Sex should be special and sometimes it is given to people who do not deserve it. Both men and women have sex daily and sometimes it is not that special candle lit experience but even simple sex such as the basic carnal satisfying of needs and not so much the love making shared between lovers should be with someone special. Like candy it can be given to anyone but it should be a special candy because with sex comes things that may need a solid foundation to overcome or withstand or prevent. Sex can result in the procreation of life and sometimes it can result in the catching of a disease or infection. These things are life changing whether briefly, long term or whatever the case may be. And even the emotion and spiritual connection of sex is often ignored and that's when sex has become like candy. Candy can be given to anyone with out a commitment, presence of emotion or spiritual exchange but sex is not candy and no matter how many people would like to believe it can be candy and not a serious thing it is being abused. Humans need to be more careful with their intimate dealings and yes sex follows the carnal desire of the flesh and even though some people are not married or committed or thinking of the importance of sex it still happens. Sex is something that is underrated in its meaning. The task us humans need to achieve is to place the importance back into sex and it is not my intentions to judge any one because I am not perfect in the way I have always treated sex but I can say I do at this moment place importance next to my intimate exchange and when I look at my daughter I know that sex is more than just something to pass time. It is an act of intimacy that should be for someone special. To each their own on wether they are married but I do feel a commitment is something that should be in the mix of that levelof intimacy.
