Positive Black News

I like to keep up with the news in the world especially politics but as an African American I look for Black news that reflect people of my heritage and am fed up with the ignorance that is reflected upon my heritage. Violence, crime and stupidity happen everywhere but for once it is nice to find Black news that is positive. Frankly I do not wish to read about Lil Wayne's sex life or someone doing something stupidity and I was a little saddened by the fact that when googling black news I find more about Chris Brown and Rhianna and the hip hop community. Now don't get me wrong I look at all news types but I dislike Black news allowing itself to be limited to just hip hop news. As Black people we are more than just the music and although it is a great attribute to the black community, it has lost its prestige to filth and fluff. I listen to many hip hop and R&b music but I like to hear about more than just sex, violence and cars. We are better than that and yes I respect people's right to the freedom of expression. But I also understand that talent can become a waste if you do not produce anything of substance. Being frank and blunt as an artist about what is really happening is not the same as glorifying ignorance. That is where I have a problem. Well anyways here is a site I can across that has positive Black news. I will be checking in on it but it looks to be filled with more than just fluff. http://www.todaysdrum.com/
